INSCAPE are an alternative metal band from Swansea, South Wales, whose sound is heavily inspired by electronic and dance music along with modern metalcore and progressive metal, landing them in a unique genre of their own in the modern music scene. Originally formed over 14 years ago, the band entered 2026 with a refined lineup, looking to build on the successes of their two 2025 single releases, “FIRST_CONTACT" and “a n t i b o d y”.
The band released their new EP, “C.I.T.R.U.S.” in June 2026, and used the Bloodstock Metal 2 the Masses competition, which is recognized both in the UK and Europe as the “Road to Bloodstock Festival” to promote the new music, as well as their new lineup. The band got invited into the quarter finals as a wildcard by the judges after initially being knocked out in the first heat, and they used this golden ticket opportunity wisely, consistently earning the judge’s vote at every heat moving forward, until they reached the finals. In June 2026, 1 day after releasing their EP, the band played the finals against 5 other bands, and were selected as the winners, netting them a spot at Bloodstock Festival in August 2026.
At Bloodstock Festival, the band nabbed a prime-time slot, playing on Saturday in the late afternoon, and after navigating some technical difficulties, they performed their set to a very enthusiastic and high-energy New Blood Stage crowd. Described by many at the festival as a “palette cleanser”, their different take on modern metal was well-received, and the band plans to build on the successes of Bloodstock and maintain the momentum for the remainder of 2026 and into 2027.

INSCAPE are back with a new, refined sound. Following on from the 2 single releases in 2025, the band has now released their new EP "C.I.T.R.U.S.", which is a conceptual album set in a universe where androids are common place in society. C.I.T.R.U.S. is an AI which infects the minds of the androids and turns them against their human masters, causing death and destruction. As the EP progresses, we learn more about the AI, and the effect it has on the world. The final song "HERESY" is a sombre conclusion to the story, and is an interesting outlook of the effect AI could have on the world one day.
